Zoe and Chris’s wedding in South Queensferry was a lovely day. The weather was sunny all day and the ceremony, reception, speeches and dancing all went off without a hitch. Here are the highlights. Enjoy!

Equipment dilema
My whole system seems to have a virus… my external hard drive won’t show, my software won’t do what it’s told, everything is slower and I have loads to do. Sometimes I hate computers and the simple minded little terrors who create viruses. Apparently most computer viruses come from either disgruntled IT geniuses who “disagree” with they way Microsoft have taken over the computer world and bored teenage IT geniuses who are have too much time on their hands. Either way they have wasted three days and counting of production time.
South Queensferry, Edinburgh
We have a wedding this weekend in South Queensferry which sits on the south shore of the narrowest part of the Forth Estuary east of Grangemouth, looking across to North Queensferry, its twin on the Fife shore. As an obvious place to cross the river when heading into Fife from Edinburgh it is likely that settlements either side of the river here, and ferries between them, date back to ancient times. You can see the history in the cobbled streets and old buildings and with the breath taking views it’s an excellent choice for a wedding. The wedding and reception are being held at the Orroco Pier Hotel and the Priory Church and are a 3 minute walk from each other, both are stunning venues. Can’t wait to film there!
Bothwell
We’ve just had three bookings for a weddings in Bothwell in May and July. Bothwell is a lovely wee town, just down the road from us it has some excellent venues and breathtaking scenery, like Bothwell Castle and the Clyde Walkway, well part of the Clyde Walkway anyway, it’s massive!
The Bothwell Bridge Hotel is probably the most popular, I’ve been to several funtions there and I can easily say they are very good at what they do. Good food, good staff and well maintained building and grounds.
Happy New Year
Hope everyone had a great new year. My wife and I saw in the bells at the Edinburgh Street Party with some friends, it was incredibly cold but the atmosphere was electric. The Noisettes were brilliant as were Madness who saw in the bells singing “it must be love”. The fireworks were definitely the best I’ve ever seen, a truly professional display of pyrotechnics!
Cold digits!
When I’m working my hands tend to be exposed most of the time, especially when I’m filming from the shoulder and I can’t wear gloves because I need to feel all the buttons on the camera to work effectively. So at this time of year you can imagine when I’m filming outdoors my hands tend to get a bit nippy and eventually numb. I tried so many methods to keep my hands warm without effecting the footage but it’s near impossible without creating even a bit of shakey footage so I normally just brave it now or wear extremely thin gloves.
If anyone can invent a clever solution to this little dilema, please feel free to contact me, I’d be delighted to hear it!
